Happy 3 Weeks Old!!

"I feel much better than I did last week."

"Daddy always wants to hold me."

"I get a little upset at bath time."

It is hard to believe that it has been 3 weeks ago today that Taylor came into the world. Our lives have definitely been changed...we have learned many things like what it is to be parents, patience, compassion for others less fortunate, what amazing family and friends we are blessed with, and most of all the ever present friend we have in our Heavenly Father.

Taylor is continuing to make progress, for which we are so grateful!! We know the prayers of all have made an impact in her improvement. After speaking with her Dr. today, they are still planning on letting her go home this Thursday as long as she remains stable and she passes her car seat test. In order to pass this test, she has to sit in her car seat for 90 minutes without dropping her heart rate or oxygen saturation.

She is back up in weight, and is at 4 lbs. and 15 oz. She is improving in tolerating her feedings even though she is still having some issues with spitting. As long as she continues to gain weight, the Dr. is OK with her progress.

Love,
Dana, David, and Taylor

Congratulations!!!!! I have been keeping up with you guys via Emily. You Lexington gals love to keep life exciting, don't you? Well enough already! I do hope you get to bring Taylor home this week. I know it's been a long time coming and you'll be glad to finally get her home. She and Reagan are fortunate to be able to keep each other company. Oh, the stories they'll have to tell! Take care and know that you are all in our prayers. The Dillons in Pleasant Garden

The car seat test??? Seriously, we will pray that she passes at the head of her class!

On the "lighter side" consider that the next time Taylor takes a test IN A CAR SEAT it will be May 6,2024. You may have lost weight from the anxiety of too many long months of riding with a driver's education student. The doctor may be checking you for sudden drops in heart rate or low oxygen levels, as it will be difficult for you to sit next to Taylor in the car for 90 minutes and breathe, much less keep a steady heart rate. Perhaps by 2024 someone will have designed a specially made protective seat for the nervous parents of driver's ed students, a seat not unlike the one in which Taylor will sit to take her test this week!

But for now, we will focus on one test at the time and pray!

Love, Carolyn

Hi Dana & David, Deb gave me the link to your blog. Taylor is so beautiful. I'm praying for you all. I have no doubts that Taylor will pass her test, after all she is a Downing/Lilly. :-)

Dearest Taylor, Dana, & David,

I absolutely cannot WAIT for all 3 of you to be back home and with our family!

(Taylor: Memorial Day's cook-out just WASN'T RIGHT without you! I kept thinking of you and wishing you were here! I'll see you tonight, and I have a special gift just for YOU -- from "Ba-ba!" I love you!

(Dana/David: Keep encouraged! God is doing far more in and through you two right now, than you can even BEGIN to imagine. Thank you for letting HIM have HIS way. I love you two SO much!)

I guess I'm still signed in as Pastor Dan ... though Taylor knows my name is "Ba-ba!" :-)

I can't imagine how much this poor child is missing her Aunt Pokey. Who is going to teach her how to be a person?
